How to travel to Abkhazia (Tips + 6-day itinerary)
- January 26, 2019
The Caucasus is a region nestled between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea, right in the Asian-European border.
Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and the south west of Russia are the countries that belong to the Caucasus region.
The name of the region was named after the Caucasian mountains, the highest mountain range in Europe, and the natural barrier between Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
It’s a truly fascinating region, so close to Europe but, at the same time, so different.
I have visited Georgia and Azerbaijan extensively, Armenia just briefly, and I haven’t been in the Russian part, but I will at some point.
